Garden Tours

Tour guides Leslie Simpson (at left) and Janet Wetter guide visitors through the many splendours of Government House gardens.

The gardens at Government House are open to the public free of charge.  However, the Friends offer a more in-depth visit through its walking tours.

The guided tours cost $15 per person with a minimum fee of $75 for five or fewer people. The tour fee helps to support the work of the Society and is waived for some groups, e.g. those from a school or university.

Former tour guide Arthur leading a group.

The tours, which can last from 45 to 60 minutes, visit most of the 20+ gardens on the estate and provide information about the landscape, trees, unique plants, history, and how the gardens are cared for by 300+ volunteers.

Contact co-ordinator Leslie Simpson to schedule a tour at Flowerspinkandblue@gmail.com  .
